The Fair Trade Project is working to Promote Fair Trade Certified as a consumer option and to cultivate Fair Trade Towns and Universities campaigns in the Central Florida region.
We are currently working on Fair Trade Towns campaigns for Orlando and Winter Park. We are also gauging interest in a Fair Trade Universities campaign for Rollins College.
We need Steering Committee Members and volunteers for the Orlando Fair Trade Towns campaign! Email thefairtradeproject@hotmail.com to help:
- Establish a Steering Committee
- Encourage at least 24 Orlando retailers to sell at least 2 Fair Trade products
- Encourage at least 48 Orlando civic groups to serve/use Fair Trade products
- Get media coverage
- Pass a resolution supporting Fair Trade in the Orlando City Council
If you are a business or are a member of a civic group, such as a church or union that is interested in more fair trade information, make sure to send us an email and we will be happy to provide you with more information to get started.
